WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
Sambists traditionally wear a jacket (kurtka), shorts & boots (sambofki). Jackets are either Red or Blue & are worn with a matching colour belt. However, you will be able to wear a judogi or jujitsugi, worn with a belt of the same colour and shorts. Wrestling boots can be worn but are optional.

HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE?
Not at all. Just get here & we’ll do the rest. Sambo will provide you with an aerobic, anaerobic & cardio-vascular work out

WHAT ABOUT FIGHTING OR SPARRING?
An integral part of Sambo is understanding & learning how to apply it in a live environment against a resisting opponent. However, this does not mean you will be fighting against your training partners. Techniques are learnt with the full co-operation of your partner in a compliant way and gradually built upon to provide resistance & options if the first technique is resisted or defended. Sparring is similar to randori in judo, although it is energetic, it will at no time be aggressive. Opportunity will be provided to train for MMA is you so desire.
